A final goodbye to 2011

Here’s a final look back at 2011, month by month. It’s amazing how much you forget until you go back and remind yourself what you have done over the course of the year!

1. In January we brought our ‘girls’ home! Bunty, Mac, Ginger & Pickles all settled in nicely in January.

2. In February my work was made available in Created Gallery in Chesterfield.

3. My other half and I visited Paris in March and loved every second.

4. In April we got the chance to visit Yorkshire and go adder watching with wildlife artist Andrew Hutchinson.

5. In May I completed my second Moonwalk (this time the 13.1 mile distance) in London to raise money for a breast cancer charity.

6. William was adopted by us from the RSPCA in June :) and he has been a wonderful addition to our home ever since.

7. In July I was was able to devote more time to painting and made good progress with my eagle owl.

8. The very lovely Bonnie Forkner took part in my third Inspirational Blogger Interview in August :)

9. In September I posted the A – Z of me

10. In October I celebrated my 24th birthday and the lovely Suzie Banks wrote a fab guest post for me.

11. November was so busy and saw me move house AND take part in my most successful fair to date.

12. In December I enjoyed a quiet Christmas and also took part in a charity Santa 4 mile run to raise money for a children’s hospice.

Phew! I’ve done quite a bit really! How did the last 12 months look for  you?

Here’s to another busy but enjoyable 2012!

This wreath looks so good and simple to make.

and these have to be my favourites!

Daily Read: Smile & Wave

Whilst I’m away in Yorkshire recharging my batteries, I thought it would be nice to plan another Daily Read post. Rachel Denbow’s blog is one I have found to be so inspiring and fun. Rachel is a wife and mother to two children and blogs about her young family and creative  projects. Rachel is also part of the Red Velvet team and is a regular contributor to the A Beautiful Mess blog by Red Velvet’s Elsie and her e-courses are also available to buy online there.

Rachel’s blog Smile and Wave is definitely worth a look!

Pretty flowers

If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram you may know I have been spoilt these last two days with flowers from both my OH and parents. I don’t know about you but I absolutely LOVE receiving flowers (and giving them too!) I thought they were just too pretty not to share here:

They have certainly made me feel better and brightened up my living room. It has reminded me how much I love to have flowers in my home and I need to remember to add them to my shopping list each week!

Have a lovely weekend everybody :)

Birthday wish list

I’m going to be 24 on the 4th Oct and my friends and family have already been asking me to come up with ideas for presents! I saw this post on Elsie’s blog and thought it would be fun to do a dream birthday wish list and share it here on the blog:

* These leggings are just beautiful – I’d love a pair!

* This recycled wooden sign would look great hanging up in my home.

* This cushion cover is all shades of teal and green, some of my favourite colours. I love the embroidered bird design too.

* There’s something I just love about this print, I think it might be the perspective.

* This necklace is beautiful and could be worn with anything which is always a bonus!

* These Blowfish shoes are gorgeous and they have been reduced to £20!

* and finally, this dress would be great for a night out or just to make shopping trips a bit more glam (and I love the colour!)

Do you have a similar ‘wish list’?!

A pretty surprise in the post

This morning I had a lovely surprise when the post arrived.  A little while back I followed  and supported Jessica Swift’s Kickstarter Project. This was successful and my postcards to say ‘thank you’ arrived!

The little packet at the bottom was another package  I received today and all will become clear in tomorrow’s post :)

Off to bonny Scotland :)

Hello! This week truly has been a hectic one but I wanted to stop by and let you know I am off on my jollies tomorrow! I still have tons of things to get done so I thought I’d leave you with the view I will have in less than 24 hours…

… also, whilst there I have absolutely  no signal so I won’t be able to post any photos until I get back.

Enjoy the bank holiday weekend everybody

Feathers and Fairs

Hi everybody, I’m writing this post from my garden as I try to soak up as many rays as possible – the sun has been out most of the day and this is the first chance I’ve been able to enjoy it!

I thought I’d firstly share with you a couple of etsy treasuries I have been features in:

My Butterfly on Clematis print was included in a collection of flower images by the lovely Clare Loveday

and my Spider cushion cover was included in a collection of spider themed items by Jennifer Smith

I have also been sent an image advertising the Summer Food & Gift Fair, the next big event I will be exhibiting at. It is being held at the stunning Roundhouse in Derby after the Christmas fair there was so well received. If you are in the Derbyshire area I would highly recommend a visit.

I am also nearing the completion of my chicken painting – i have added more depth to the straw ans have begun work on the background. I am basing the background on a photograph I took of some forget-me-nots with a hazy green/brown background. I have started laying down the darker colours before I start lightening it up.

and finally, I was over the moon when I had the chance to purchase something from Kelly Clark aka Umber Dove – she has the most wonderful blog and I don’t normally get across to her etsy shop in time to be able to buy something. This time I did and this beautiful painted pebble will be arriving with me very soon :)

This photo was taken by Kelly for her Etsy shop listing

Enjoy the rest of the weekend everybody x
