Inspirational Blogger Interview: Kaelah Bee

Hello! As alaways I am very excited to share my seventh interview in the series ~ the Inspirational Blogger Interview.

Over the few years I have been reading and keeping my own blog there have been certain bloggers who have made a huge impact on me. Over the coming weeks I would like to share with you some of these inspirational people. This particular blogger is one I have found more recently but her posts and photography immediately stood out to me. Without further a do, this weeks interview is with the very talented Kaelah Bee:

Hi, thank you for agreeing to take part in my Inspirational Blogger interview! First of all, can you tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started on your creative journey?

My name is Kaelah Bee and I’m a 23 year old small business owner, freelance graphic designer, and bartender. I’m engaged to a wonderful fella named Mike who works as a lifestyle photographer and he’s my right hand man when it comes to owning and operating our mobile retail shoppe, Honeybean Mobile Boutique. I’ve always wanted to live a creative life (well, since my Kindergarten teacher forced me to sit down and color the Christmas tree the right way.) I graduated high school and went on to pursue fashion design and graphic design in college. I worked at BUST magazine in NYC for two summers and it was so very exciting. I decided to veer off of the design path for a bit to live my small indie biz dreams of owning my own boutique. We’re just getting started but it’s already been an adventure!

How did you first find out about blogging and what made you decide to have a go?

I’ve been blogging online since 2002… I was 14! From Xanga and LiveJournal all the way to my current Blogspot, I’ve documented parts of my life that the internet will never let me forget! Ha! I decided to start Little Chief Honeybee when I was moving to NYC by myself at 21. It was a way to show my family and friends what I was up to. I never thought it’d grow into what it is today.

Has blogging had a positive affect on your creative success and the way you run your business?

Absolutely! I owe a lot of my success, motivation and courage to my readers. They support me in so many areas of my life. It’s like having thousands of best friends! Kind of awesome.

How has your blog developed since you began?

I first started it to document my NYC shenanigans and then it was my meditation retreat for a really awful breakup with my long term boyfriend at the time. Then I decided to just share happy positive things. Inspirations, goals, etc. I still am very real on my blog and I share the not so great stuff, too, but it’s just a happy sanctuary where I can be real, but put a positive spin on it. I’m eternally embarrassed by many of my old posts! Then again, who isn’t?! It’s cool to see myself evolve along with my blog, brand and business.

What has been the best thing to come out of having your blog?

I’ve met some of my absolute best friends in the world. In fact, out of my 6 (!!!) bridesmaid, I met 4 online! I’m able to meet people I otherwise would have never come across. It’s a great way to find like-minded people and a support group that is always there for you.

Can you leave us with one piece of advice for anybody who is just starting out in the blogging world or who would like to improve their blog?

Be genuine. No matter how many people read your blog… 1 or 1 million, be YOU. Don’t blog for numbers or free things. Blog for your passions and yourself. If you’re honest and sincere with who you are and how you present yourself, readers will come!

I would just like to take this opportunity to thank Kaelah again for taking time out of her very busy schedule and answering my questions.

I hope this post has inspired you to enjoy your blogging or perhaps start a blog if you haven’t already!
