Another Painting Update
Hi everyone! I thought I’d share with you the progress of my cat painting (I hadn’t done anymore to it for a few weeks until today!) The scan above is after I started to paint the background. I needed to do this so I can begin finishing off the edges of the cat, bringing the white hairs over the background to give a more realistic finish. It’s also crucial to add the background before the main image is finished so you can see if it works together.
Here is my Smudge painting after about 10 hours worth of painting. I have begun building the background up further and started to add the blurred brown shapes which are leaves in the background of the photo I’m painting from. I’m hoping it won’t be too long until I’ve finished the background so I can start the eye – that will be my favourite part to paint!
