Painting update
This is my progress of Smudge since my last blog entry…about 4 and 1/2 hours of painting so far. I am pleased with my progress considering how busy I’ve been with other things!
It’s been cold around here again and we had at least 2 inches of snow yesterday. I’m looking forward to Spring!
It’s going to be a short post today, so much to do and little time to do it in!

I love how you've captured the whiskers! It is so much fun to see paintings in progress, I love seeing how artists work. Nice to "meet" you, I'm one of the fellow fishies in the ecourse.
Hi Amber,
Thanks for your comment – I made a conscious decision when I started this painting that I'd track my progress. I often get asked how long a painting takes and I always forget!
It's good to 'meet' you too – I'm really looking forward to getting to know every one as the e-course progresses. It's my first ever e-course so I don't quite know what to expect!
Hi Kate,
I am loving this painting absolutely stunning! What medium do you use? I notice you combine photography into your paintings – is it with a computer or collage? It's nice to meet you I am a fellow fishie
Thank you! I use Chromacolour, a paint which can be used like many types of medium. I use it like acrylic and build layers of texture up, dark to light (the opposite to what people think!)
I take photographs and put them onto my computer and use Photoshop to layer my paintings over/into my photographs. It's a technique I started to do whilst studying Illustration at Uni and it's stuck! I love it because it allows for so many things to be explored. It's great to meet you too – I'm still working on the first set of questions but it's great to finally know what questions you should be asking yourself!
Hey, Kate! I am in the fish bowl e-course with you! I am glad you answered Ivy's question because I was wondering the same thing! I wanted to pop in and meet you….check and your blog. I really like it here. The cat is fabulous! Makes me want to go home and create a painting of our cat…Princess PiCATso! See you in class! Kim
Hello I saw your post at Susannah’s and came to visit. Congrats on your new blog it’s greeted me with nourishing vibes.
Love your cat painting. I thought it was a photo!
